Grizz gave a presentation about his eyeglass collection program. The Rotary Club of Pemberton are supporters of Grizz and the work he is doing.
Joe Robinson (Grizz) is a long-time friend of the Rotary Club of Pemberton and member of the Pemberton Lions Club. Despite being 90% blind he is hugely active volunteering with the two clubs, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Grizz is the Sight Awareness Captain for Lions District 19a and has been collecting glasses for a number of years already. He has boxes situated at the Whistler Eye Clinic, Whistler RCMP, the Pemberton Legion, the Pemberton Doctors Office, the Library at the Pemberton Community Centre and the Pemberton Scotiabank.
These glasses go either to Third World Eye Care Society of Canada (TWECS) or World Vision. TWECS is the same place that Rotary District 5040 will send the glasses they collect as part of their 2020 District Conference initiative. The Rotary 5040 District's goal is to collect 2020 pairs of glasses. Please join us in trying to help achieve this goal!
